J & J OSTROŽOVIČ · MAKOVISKO VINEYARD · 2003
Only exceptional years make a wine like this possible.
The rarity of this wine begins in the vineyard. Tokaj 6 Puttonyos is made only in particularly favourable vintages, when the region yields botrytised berries of the quality it requires. The 2003 vintage is one of those years.
From the Makovisko vineyard comes a sweet Tokaj wine with generous aromas and an exceptionally long finish. Its character continues to impress expert judging panels: in 2026, it won a Grand Gold Medal and the Tokaj Wines category at the Danube Wine Challenge.

THE SECRET OF TOKAJ
A rarity shaped by nature.
In autumn, morning mists can alternate with sunny days in the Tokaj vineyards. When conditions are right, the fungus Botrytis cinerea develops as noble rot on the ripening grapes.
The berries gradually lose water and become shrivelled, botrytised grapes, known locally as cibéby. Sugars, acids and aromatic compounds become concentrated within them. What may look like dried grapes becomes the foundation of remarkably concentrated Tokaj wines.
A treasure that cannot be made to order
Neither the quantity nor the quality of these berries is the same every year. Harvesting them by hand demands patience and the careful selection of individual berries. This meeting of natural conditions and winemaking expertise gives Tokaj its distinctive character.
