J & J Ostrožovič · Solaris Collection
Sun in the vineyard.
Freshness in the glass.
Solaris tells the story of the sun, tuff stone and the golden lizard. The sun that bathes Tokaj and the Makovisko vineyard. The stone where lizards love to bask. And distinctive grapes from which J & J Ostrožovič crafts wines with a character of their own. Tokaj varieties lie at the heart of the collection; elegant rosé and red wine add further shades to its palette.
Solaris — five wines with a sunlit character.
From pear notes in Furmint through citrusy Lipovina and floral Yellow Muscat to raspberry-scented rosé and Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of currant and sour cherry. Five distinctive wines share the signature of J & J Ostrožovič and the story of Solaris.
The story of the collection
Solaris evokes sunlit Tokaj. Its symbols bring together the warmth of the sun, tuff stone and the golden lizard basking in the sunshine on the warm ground of the vineyards.
A wine’s individuality begins with its grapes. Places that grow grapes with such character are few. For Solaris, one of them is Makovisko: a sunny vineyard in Tokaj with stony tuff soil, part of J & J Ostrožovič’s own vineyards.
The golden lizard brings this story to life. Basking on tuff stone, it recalls the sun that accompanies the ripening grapes. The winemaker has carried this golden symbolism into a collection made from Tokaj grape varieties — Furmint, Lipovina and Yellow Muscat.
